The engine produces greater torque at lower rpm. Maximum torque has also been increased and is now achieved at a lower rpm (5,500->5,000 rpm). This change contributes to enhancing fuel efficiency, and to improving the feel of acceleration and the pleasure of riding.

The finely tuned CVT transmission delivers satisfying acceleration at low rpm, without having to open the throttle excessively, while its settings are also effective in limiting fuel consumption. By matching the CVT settings to vehicle speed in the 30-60km/h range, the engine’s rpm rises gradually to deliver a pleasing feeling much like that of a motorcycle.

This is achieved by implementing changes to the camshaft profile. Specifically, the intake cam lifts higher to increase the amount of air intake, while the exhaust cam timing was adjusted to minimize overlap.

Optimized intake port’s shape and combustion chamber shape to maximizes the flow velocity of the air-fuel mixture entering the combustion chamber from intake port. Optimized combustion chamber design helps in achieving a high compression ratio that results in low fuel consumption and powerful engine output. This ranges from the application of a relatively long stroke to optimization of the combustion chamber shape, which, as described above, adopts an M-shaped squish area and banana-shaped intake port.

The mounting angle of the injector is also optimized to for excellent combustion efficiency. Precise control over fuel delivery also makes engine starts easier and more reliable, even in cold weather. The engine produces far less emissions and provides a smoother riding experience, which is achieved without deteriorating the engine’s performance. Optimized intake valve shape: The design of the intake valve, with its two-layer chamfer and waist stem, further contributes to the overall efficiency of the intake system.
